Order before 4PM PST and receive same-day shipping for many in-stock items that are accepted by small parcel carriers. Hazardous items that must be shipped by freight truck only may ship the same day or next day depending on the item, destination and time of order.

Small parcel carriers
UPS, FedEx Ground/Express, and Golden State Overnight are our major carriers for small parcel delivery. You may also provide your shipping account number for UPS and FedEx. -
Freight carriers
We will attempt to find the best rate from multiple freight carriers at the time of order.

Small parcel
Ground, 2-day Air, Standard Overnight, or Priority Overnight for domestic shipping. International shipments will vary by destination. -
Freight
Currently for domestic shipments only. Depending on the shipment destination and weather, there can be significant shipment delays for freight shipments as carriers may need to comply with compatibility loading restrictions for certain combinations of multiple hazard classes in a single load. Shipments in the San Francisco Bay Area will be delivered reliably within 24-48 hours. Shipments outside of the Bay Area, but still in a single zone, should be delivered in a few days. Under ideal conditions, cross-country transit times are 5-7 days.

Shipping
Shipping rates vary depending on the quantity of material, hazard class, government regulations, package weight and shipping method. For unregulated ground shipments weighing less than 1 lb in a single zone, the costs could be as low as about $7 and are determined by the carrier.

Handling
These charges are determined by Volochem. Charges depend on the hazard class of the material, transportation regulations, required packaging and the time spent preparing the shipment. For unregulated shipments requiring minimal packaging, the handling charge can be as low as $2-$5. For shipments that require preparation of regulated shipping papers and U.N. specification packaging, the costs could be $15-$30 or higher for a single item.

Carrier Surcharge for Hazardous Materials
These are charges from the carriers that are assessed when shipping papers must be prepared according to transportation regulations. These charges cover the cost for the carrier to comply with the regulations. For example, they must provide special training to their employees and maintain copies of the shipping papers for at least one year and are subject to inspection by the DOT and FAA. The carrier surcharge can range from $15 to $40. Limited Quantity shipments by ground and Excepted Quantity shipments by ground and air are less regulated and not subject to the carrier surcharge.
